Armalite AR 180B 5.56
I have one of these and have had several different scopes and tried lots of hand loads as well as factory loads in this gun and I can't get anything better than paper plate at 100 yards. I have many other guns that are sub moa so I don't feel as though it is me not knowing how to shoot. Does anyone have one and have they had the same problem? Should I just either leave it open sights or put a red dot on it and be happy with paper plate accuracy or am I missing something. 1:9 twist according to the manual. Like I said, I have a 1:9 Bushmaster that is sub moa with me pulling the trigger with the same ammo. April 13, 2010, 04:12 PM

Let me guess: With iron sights it is capable of good accuracy, but when you mount the scope, it opens up a great deal? Right? I have a 180B...and have fought, cussed and messed with it. #1. It came with a Midwest Industries scope mount. I ended up pulling it. It's spring went bad, and wouldn't hold it on. #2. I got a Stormwerkz extended rail. It seats solidly, but has up and down slop in it. Heres the thread I made over on ar15.com http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=62&t=480842 Overall, I'm exasperated with it...I LOVE...the gun, and with iron sights it does pretty good, sub 2". Which is great considering me and iron sights. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with mine...I still might shim it, I might sell it... Right now it's working "okay" with electrical tape wrapped around the front of the mount holding it down. It gets about 3" accuracy that way...Not the best, but it is AK-accurate, which is semi-acceptable..... Overall it just really peeves me though....I tried supergluing the mount GOOD. With the mount glued the 180B produced 1.5" groups easily, so it is capable of good accuracy....just something's messed up.
